The Hartford, Liberty Mutual and EyeMed Earn Top Honors at IMCA’s 2014 Showcase Awards

The Hartford Financial Services Group won the coveted SAMMY Award for overall best of show, along with six additional awards at the 2014 Annual IMCA Showcase Awards. EyeMed also won six awards, including five Awards of Excellence, while Liberty Mutual Insurance took home the most Best of Show awards, with three.

Marking its 56th year, the 2014 Showcase Awards recognize outstanding marketing and communications work in the insurance industry to promote higher standards of excellence. Entries are drawn from all corners of the insurance industry and across a broad range of categories, from television advertising to social media to employee communications.

This year’s ceremony was held on June 24 in San Diego during the IMCA Annual Conference. The awards were presented to a range of insurance organizations in categories including corporate social media, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.

Attendees voted on the association’s SAMMY award winner, selecting The Hartford for the 2014 SAMMY award as the overall best of show for its Paralympic TV Commercial in the TV Spot or Campaign category. The ad also won Best of Show in its category.

The Hartford garnered another Best of Show for its LaunchPad App in the Mobile Marketing category. Liberty Mutual’s Best of Show awards spanned the categories of Public Relations, Corporate Social Media and Audio/Visual Communications, including one award for its Liberty Mutual Safe and Smart blog.

For EyeMed, its Awards of Excellence fell across many categories, but the company’s Best of Show award went to its 2013 “More is More” Direct Mail Campaign in the Single Item, Sales/Marketing/Branding Promotion category. Both Great American Insurance Group and Jackson National Life Distributors earned five overall awards.

Several companies won three or more Award of Excellence honors, including American Family Insurance, CNA, EyeMed, Great American Insurance Group, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Jackson National Life Distributors and Sun Life Financial.
