Beth Waters – Marketing Specialist, Frankenmuth Insurance
With 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a Marketing Specialist. Holding both the AINS and CPIA designations, Beth’s career began as a claims adjuster, where she developed a strong understanding of the claims process and customer needs. She then transitioned to personal lines underwriting, sharpening her skills and risk assessment abilities.
Now, as a marketing specialist, Beth combines her unique experiences to create effective marketing campaigns that truly resonate with agency partners and drive brand awareness. Her passion for the insurance field, along with her commitment to delivering value, allows her to foster strong relationships with both clients and stakeholders.
Megan Bell – Senior Vice President, Marketing at Falvey Insurance Group
Megan leads Falvey Insurance Group’s marketing and communications and customer experience initiatives. Prior to her current role at Falvey, Megan worked in numerous marketing and sales support roles, primarily at consumer-packaged goods companies. She created the Women at the Helm speaker series in 2022, which was recognized as a Gold Winner at the 2023 Insurance Marketing & Communications Association’s annual Showcase Awards, and by Business Insurance as a 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year finalist. This event series became the catalyst for Megan’s award-nominated women in insurance podcast called InsHER, which is dedicated to candid conversations with the many incredible women making up the insurance industry. InsHER has a new episode every Wednesday and is available on Apple, Spotify, and more streaming platforms. InsHER is a finalist for the 2024 Insurance Insider US Honors for Women’s Initiative of the Year.
Megan served on the Executive Committee of the Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) Board of Directors between 2020-2024, is Co-Chair of the newly formed IMCA Mentorship Program, and was a 2019 recipient of the IMCA Rising Star award. In addition to her involvement with IMCA, Megan serves on the Northeast Board of Directors for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, is a member of the Catalyst Committee for The Women in Insurance Initiative (WII), serves as a Rally Booster for The Mom Project, and participates as a mentor for Rising Insurance Star Executives (RISE Professionals). Megan was also named one of Insurance Business America’s 2022 Elite Women.
Megan earned her B.A. in English Communications and Spanish from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA in 2010.
Ilya Filipov – General Manager, Principal Industry Verticals
Ilya Filipov is a seasoned executive with more than 15 years of insurance and financial services experience. He has held leadership roles in most facets of insurance, including sales, product, customer service, process engineering, marketing, strategy, digital transformation, finance and investments, underwriting, M&A, and legal and compliance. He successfully launched the insurance verticals at two SaaS firms, Talkdesk and Total Expert. Prior to moving to the Insurtech world, he spent five years with Westfield Insurance, a super-regional carrier based in Northeast Ohio. At Westfield, Filipov managed the company’s strategy in personal lines, middle market, surety, and small commercial. Prior to Westfield, he served Western & Southern Financial Group, Cincinnati, Ohio, starting in an executive development role. There, he held a variety of responsibilities in life insurance, sales and marketing, insurance operations, and investments. A native of North Macedonia, and based out of Cleveland, Ohio, Filipov received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and his BSc from the University of Arizona.
